Comments on the 2007 Second-Term Commune Elections

… Since today is my first appearance after the commune elections I wish to make some clarifications. After the elections of the second-term commune councils the Royal Government of Cambodia is not going to make any changes at all. In some countries local elections could lead to changes in the local administration but for me I am to affirm that the current Royal Government led by CPP with Funcinpec as its partner will continue till the end of its term though Funcinpec has gone down to number four in this elections and even if Funcinpec is going to gain no further votes in the coming general elections in2008.

Selected Comments at the Inauguration of the Bayon TV and Radio Station

Today my wife and I are happy to be here for the inauguration of the Bayon TV and radio station as is reported by the director of the station that it consists of a headquarter, a new technology setup but not a different Bayon Station. The broadcast of Bayon Radio started ten years today or between 1997 and 2007, and the Bayon TV started roughly a year later in 1998. The station played a very important role in time of incident in July 1997. At that time broadcast from other channels disappeared the two stations strived to get on air

Selected Comments at the Inauguration of a Multi-Study Hall and the Graduation at the Royal University of Phnom Penh

Since it is March 10 today, just two days from the International Women’s Day, please allow me to congratulate our women and female students here and wish them the very best five Buddhist blessings. I ma glad to come back to the RUPP once again to officiate two events at the same time – 1) the inauguration of a multi-study hall after a thorough renovation and 2) the graduation ceremony and degree conferment for 1695 graduates that are new human resources for the country. I wish to give my compliment to the Ministry of Finance
